Intern Supervised by Richard J Kim, Ph.D.
In counseling I focus on providing a safe space for individuals to experience genuine support. As an eclectic counselor, I provide therapeutic interventions supported by empirical research and proven strategies that were designed to help decrease symptoms of mental health concerns. I utilize a humanistic approach to counseling which emphasizes the uniqueness of each individual. My approaches include person-centered, solution-focused, cognitive behavioral, somatic and trauma informed therapy techniques and interventions.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles county before attending University of Central Florida in Orlando for my undergraduate degree. During my time in Florida, I worked for non-profit agencies, and saw a great need of access to mental health care in the community. This encouraged my journey to become a counselor, and attended Grand Canyon University for my Masters degree before moving to O’ahu in 2022 with my family.
In my free time I am an active volunteer around the island through Waimea Valley O’aha volunteering, 808 Clean Ups, and other local community opportunities. In my additional free time, I practice yoga, enjoy being in nature, and spending time with my loved ones.
