Post Graduate/Pre-Licensure Mental Health Counselor
I have an eclectic approach and like to match the approach to the client. Some of the approaches that I use frequently are acceptance and commitment, cognitive behavioral, person-centered, and solution focused.
I was born and raised here, on O’ahu. I studied Biology and Psychology at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. While there I worked on research focused on understanding the relationship between cognitive flexibility and mental health outcomes. I continued on to Chaminade University at Honolulu for my master’s degree in counseling psychology. During my program at Chaminade, I interned at Leeward Community College where I worked to improve the mental health of the student population through individual counseling and organizing and leading mental health workshops. I am currently working towards my goal of giving back to my community as a licensed mental health counselor and am collecting hours under supervision to reach that goal. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing videogames on my PC, and taking care of my plants.
